Mike and Dee's Japan blog

In April and May last year we visited Japan and Hong Kong and published a regular blog about our quest for the locations in Haruki Murakami novels. The trip was fantastic and Mike has started work on a book combining literary criticism and travelogue based on our experiences.

Mike has enjoyed several stints as freelance copywriter at Maverick Advertising and Design working on a variety of marketing and training scripts. He has also budgeted a major ELT shoot which we hope to do next year and is preparing footage and stills for incorporation in the fotolibra stock photo and footage libraries run by old friend Gwyn Headley.

He also continues as executive producer and writer for the Bimco eLearning diploma course in maritime commerce with Videotel Marine International. He's currently working on the sixth module concerned with Voyage Chartering which will join the Bimco eLearning programme later this year.

A new client in the last year has been the Netherlands based publishing service agency Tekst 2000 Click here. We've done a variety of ELT related editing jobs for them on behalf of Dutch publishers.

We have produced a series of short showreels to show our media production capability in different sectors. You can check the others out here.

Mike  wrote, photographed the centre and produced a brochure for the opening of the new Cedars Youth and Community Centre in Harrow for the Watford Community Sports & Education Trust. Click here to read more about the opening. Mike has also completed the writing and design specification for the Trust's Annual Report for the year 2012-13 - the third year in a row that he has produced the Charity's main annual communication.

In the summer Mike also produced a leaflet for the launch of Watford Works a project with which the Trust in partnership with locally-based lottery promoter Camelot is tackling the problems of youth unemployment in the area. He's now just completed the Trust's Annual Report as a review of another successful year for the charity.
